About Us

  I was raised on Beverly Hills Drive, in Pegram TN.  Pegram is a small town just outside of Nashville. Makes me sound like a Beverly Hill Billy right? When I was in elementary school I loved to read,  paint, be in plays and write stories. Like a lot of us, somewhere along the way I lost that creativity. In high school, when I found out that our team’s quarter back was going to be in the school play, I thought.. we can do that? I didn’t know it was ok to pursue theater as an athlete. I guess I was high school musical before high school musical was cool or a multi-million dollar franchise.   I think I hadn’t lost my creative desires but I had lost the permission to be creative, to be different,

to be myself.

My journey since has taken me to work in academics and in film/TV. I was a full time, tenured professor and a department chair. I’ve taught screenwriting and filmmaking for almost 20 years , which I call The Story Arena. I have written films that have been in stores and on Netflix.

Currently , I write and I teach part-time.  Hopefully, I’ll get to teach you.
